Hello everyone! I'm back! My creative juices are starting to churn again, so there will hopefully be new things soon-ish. I've been enjoying summer by myself. That's right, ALL by myself! Sure, I've gotten lonely for people, but I can't remember the last time I was able to do fun things alone, no interruptions, no distractions. I've also decided I'm going to put my own spin on Bess's SA comics, and hopefully incorporate them into drawing assignments. That may not happen, but I can hope.

Don't you just love stress? I've got a shit ton of it now, and it's up for grabs. For starters, my grandma was admitted in the hospital on Sunday afternoon. An ECG showed abnormalities, so they kept her for several days expecting to find some heart problem. A whole battery of tests, including a normal stress test, showed nothing. I have a hard time believing extreme facial pallor accompanied with crushing chest and shoulder pain is indicative of nothing, but that's my "non-professional opinion". I just returned from dinner and some work in the lab and have fabulous news! I was awarded one of 8 $5700 HHMI grants! WHEEEE!!!! I get to execute a research project this summer and get paid for it!
